How AI Uses Connectors

Automatic Context

When AI handles a ticket, it can:

  1. Identify relevant platforms (e.g., customer mentions order)
  2. Query connected platforms for data
  3. Include information in response

Action Execution

When appropriate, AI can:

  1. Determine an action is needed
  2. Check permissions and limits
  3. Execute or queue for approval
  4. Report results

Example Flow

  1. Customer: "I need a refund for order 12345"
  2. AI: Queries Shopify for order details
  3. AI: Checks refund policy in knowledge base
  4. AI: Order is eligible for refund
  5. AI: Initiates refund via Stripe
  6. AI: Responds with confirmation

Security & Permissions

Credential Security

  • AES-256-GCM encryption at rest
  • Never logged or exposed
  • Scoped to minimum required permissions

Action Control

Control what AI can do:

  • Read-only: AI can view but not modify
  • Read-write: AI can take actions
  • Specific actions: Enable/disable individual actions

Audit Logging

All connector usage is logged:

  • What data was accessed
  • What actions were taken
  • Timestamp and context

Troubleshooting

Connection Failed

  1. Verify credentials are correct
  2. Check API key hasn't expired
  3. Ensure required permissions are granted
  4. Try reconnecting

Actions Not Working

  1. Verify the action is enabled
  2. Check action limits haven't been hit
  3. Confirm permissions allow the action
  4. Review error messages in activity log

Data Not Syncing

  1. Check connection is active
  2. Verify data exists in the source
  3. Review sync settings
  4. Try manual refresh

Rate Limits

Each platform has rate limits:

  • Keva respects platform limits
  • Actions are queued when limits hit
  • You can set additional limits in Settings
